Master Bedroom Refresh
We recently gave our master bedroom a mini makeover, what I’m calling a “refresh” even though it’s still a new space. We have had this furniture for a long time along with the quilt and sheets since we had gotten married several years ago. UPDATE: I have received a lot of questions on where my bed and nightstands are from and I was able to track them down! You can find them here! We decided to upgrade our bedding and added a few furnishings and I am so glad we did!
Here’s a look at the before, not the ugliest but just not living up to it’s full potential!
Aaaaannnd, here’s a look at the after!
Our bed frame we have had for a few years, and I still love it! You can find it here.
Matching nightstands are sourced here.
First up on my refresh list was a rug to add warmth to the space, I found this one here.
The next addition was some new and soft sheets! Ya’ll I’m not even exaggerating, these sheets will make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud! And best part they are so affordable! For new bedding, I wanted something ruffled and neutral (paired with our natural wood tones so it wasn’t too girly for the hubs!) I searched and searched until I found the absolute perfect duvet cover here along with matching shams here. Next up was a duvet insert, and I found an affordable one here. I have a background working in allergy, and if you are an allergy sufferer like myself I highly recommend adding a duvet dust mite cover for your duvet, mattress, as well as dust mite pillow case covers. These honestly are an easy way to help with allergies and my symptoms got so much better after adding them.
When styling a king sized bed with pillows, I used 2 king pillows, 3 euro pillows, 2 throw pillows and then 1 large lumbar pillow to give it a cohesive layered look. I love to mix different textures and visuals (such as tassels and embroidery) to tie it all in.
I wanted to add a bench to the end of our bed. I found this perfect tufted farmhouse style one with matching “x” legs to tie in with our barn door. Did you know you can order online at Kirkland’s with free pick up in store or have it shipped to you?! I did this for the first time with in store pick up and realized they have a lot of products in the back that aren’t out on display! Add a wooden tray, a vase with greenery, and a few candles or books and you have a styled bench.
Finally, I wanted to finish up this space in the corner of our bedroom. I added a tufted chair, small side table, basket and a cozy blanket and pillow.
And that concludes our master bedroom refresh! I hope you enjoyed this little tour!

I love your decorative pillows especially the ones with the tassels. Where did you find those?
Thank you so much! If you click on the photos of the pillows in the blog post it will take you to the link!
What a beautiful room! Where is the side table from? It’s so unique. Thanks!
Thanks so much! I’m sorry, I forgot the link in the blog, I just added it under the picture of the chair if you click on it it will show you where to find it!
I was able to find them! I just added a link in the blog for the furniture and it’s on major sale currently!
We have tongue and groove on our screened porch. We have not painted or stained. I love your color – do you know what it is or do you have any ideas? I love your look.
I really wish I knew, I told the builder I wanted something very light and natural looking. Our wood is just pine so you could play around with some light stain colors and see what will give you this natural look.
I love the wall hanging above the bed – is it available please.
Yes! It is from smallwood home if you check out their website.
I know you said you’ve had the furniture for awhile but I absolutely love that bed frame and those night stands! Where are they from?
Thanks for the information! Love the chandelier. Are your floors LVT? If so do you remember the brand and color?
Thanks,
Gretchen
They are Pergo Smoked Chestnut! We love them!
